Letter from Incoming President

I am deeply honored to begin my service as President of IDSOG and grateful for the opportunity to serve this remarkable community of scientists, clinicians, educators, and trainees.

As we begin a new year, I would like to recognize several important leadership transitions. Congratulations to Dr. Melissa Herbst-Kralovetz, who joins the Executive Board as Treasurer, and welcome to our newest Council members, Dr. Kathryn Miele and Dr. Pawel Laniewski. On behalf of the Society, I also want to express my sincere gratitude to Dr. Jen Balkus, now Immediate Past President, for her outstanding leadership and vision over the past year. Thank you as well to Dr. Sarah Dotters-Katz and Dr. Alisa Kachikis for their dedicated service to IDSOG leadership.

This year’s Annual Meeting reminded us why IDSOG is such a special scientific home. The outstanding science, thoughtful discussion, and genuine collegiality that define our Society were on full display in Lake Geneva. Whether you presented your work, mentored a trainee, asked challenging questions, or simply reconnected with colleagues, you helped make this meeting an extraordinary success. Congratulations to Dr. Christina Muzny and the Scientific Program Committee for assembling another exceptional program.

As we look ahead, my priorities for the coming year are centered on three commitments: sustainability, advocacy, and preserving our legacy. Together, we will revisit our strategic plan with a focus on thoughtful financial stewardship and ensuring IDSOG remains a strong, sustainable scientific home. We will continue to advocate for rigorous science and evidence-based care that advances reproductive health. At the same time, I hope we will preserve and celebrate the history of our Society—documenting the people, discoveries, and traditions that have shaped IDSOG and sharing those stories with those who will lead us in the years ahead. While strategic planning is essential, the true strength of IDSOG has always been its people: a community where established leaders invest generously in emerging investigators, creating a culture unlike any other in academic medicine.

Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President. I look forward to working alongside all of you as we continue advancing science, supporting one another, and strengthening the future of IDSOG.
