Code of Conduct

We hope that all who attend do so with an open mind, willing to entertain new ways of thinking and new approaches to problem solving. Our society does not tolerate biased treatment, harassment, intimidation or abuse of attendees. We also want everyone to consider how our behavior impacts our co-attendees – microaggressions and macroaggressions do not depend on the intent of the speaker, but rather how a comment is heard by the listener.

We expect:

All attendees and speakers to treat each other with respect and consideration.

All attendees will participate with the assumption of a just culture – we assume that everyone at the meeting is trying to do their best, and is willing to learn and improve.

All posted comments and questions for presenters to be phrased respectfully and constructively.

We will not tolerate:

Racist, sexist, homophobic or bigoted comments

Harassment or intimidation

Consequences of violating this code of conduct:

Comments or questions deemed inappropriate by the Program Chair will be removed.

Participants who are not respectful, or who engage in harassing, discriminatory or biased behavior, posts or comments will be barred from the meeting.
